I now have a new voter registration card, a new credit card, and a new AAA card. I'm still waiting for a new driver's license, without which I cannot obtain a new SS card. So I was not surprised to read that the DPS is under criticism for its performance.

Meanwhile, someone tried to use my old driver's license, with his picture pasted atop mine, at one of my financial institutions. Luckily, the account was flagged "Customer had wallet stolen", so the teller kept the license ... -and- the withdrawal slip, which hopefully had readable fingerprints on it.
