Representing the Jeff Daiell For Governor Campaign January 28th at a forum sponsored by the Lumberton Civic Women's Club (making Hardin at least the 22nd county into which the campaign has reached), Bob Phipps was the only speaker to receive spontaneous applause. They loved his answer to a question about receiving more money from Washington. He replied that it wasn't Washington's money, it was ours, and the solution was to not send it to them in the first place. Some folks were enthused enough to rise and stand while applauding. Bob also drew the contrast between my libertarian philosophy and the Big Government policies of Obama. On education, "I cited your education choice initiative and asked them the question “who can educate your children best, you or the government?”. I stressed that we should look at 'public' schools as 'government-run' schools and asked them to give me one example of a program the government runs well. I got no examples, just some raised eyebrows and head nodding."
